Our Mission
While our space is a welcoming home for everyone, we are deeply passionate about expanding the local Latine reading community here in Indiana. We aim to celebrate diverse stories and bridge the gap between languages by introducing Spanish-speaking readers to incredible works translated into Spanish, and inviting English-speaking readers to discover amazing narratives translated from Spanish to English. We believe these stories deserve to be shared, read, and celebrated by all.
Our Vision
We are currently starting small with local pop-up shops, but our vision is big. We are working toward a dream of opening a permanent brick-and-mortar space where our community can gather to unwind and find some much-needed “me time.

Join Latinx Pride and Vital Chapter for our very first book club event—and hopefully the first of many to come! We are thrilled to launch this community space, graciously hosted by our sponsor, Chingon Legacy.
Come together with fellow book lovers to dive into our inaugural read: The Intrigue by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, a captivating historical fiction drama. Enjoy a cozy evening featuring free refreshing drinks and light finger foods as we chat.

- Activity: Engaging book discussion paired with a hands-on bookmark-making session!
Admission Requirement: Must purchase event ticket through the Vital Chapter website for admission.
Reading & Pickup: Prior to the event, there will be pick-up date options to pick up the book to read before the event. (see below)

Important Deadlines & Book Pickup Info
Ticket Purchase Deadline: You must purchase your ticket by September 20th to secure your copy and supplies.
Books and kits will be available for pickup at the following dates and locations:
- Option 1: September 25, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at The Amp (1220 Waterway Blvd, Container 1, Indianapolis, IN 46202)
- Option 2: October 3, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Festival Herencia Hispana (International School of Indiana, 3350 N High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46224)
- Option 3: Third location TBD
Need to Arrange Pickup?
Liz Ballesteros, founder of Vital Chapter, will be reaching out to coordinate a convenient pickup date, time, and location. Alternatively, you can proactively call or text Liz at 317-902-5293. If she is unavailable, please leave your name and a callback number so she can return your message.
